The pages of history keep memory of khazars and pechenegs, the Golden Horde, Stepan Razin and Emelian Pugachev, the epoch of “economical miracle” (when Saratov got the name of the capital of all the Volga region), the October Revolution and the Great Patriotic war.

Now Saratov is an important cultural center of the Volga-Valley Region. There are a lot of sights and cultural monuments to be visited. Here you can also admire the river Volga- the longest and most famous river of Russia.
